No Chintz has three Sydney stores, one in the Eastern suburbs at Woollahra, one on the lower North Shore in
Willoughby and one in the Inner West suburb of Balmain. We specialize in superior quality textiles and fabrics which
we source from a large range of Australian and overseas suppliers. We also have a range of soft furnishing products
which are made to the highest standards in our workshop.
A Brief History
No Chintz was started in 1994 by Chrissie Jeffery, the creative force behind Stitches Soft Furnishings, a wholesale
workroom for designers and architects only. The first store was opened in response to a demand by the general
public and the business expanded rapidly, prompting the opening of a second shop five years later.
Our Fabrics
We know every fabric house and fabric designer in the world and can source any fabric for our clients. Our linens are
all sourced in Europe and our stock printed fabrics from local designers. We also offer a comprehensive selection of
current leading designer fabrics, such as Designers Guild and Dominique Kieffer. In addition, we have many fabrics
woven to our own designs by a small, family-owned mill in the south of India.
Our Soft Furnishings
We stock a range of individual and small production runs of interesting soft furnishings, many of which have been
designed for us by young local designers such as Megan Park. Additionally, we have great contacts in making
lampshades and quilted fabrics. Talk to our staff if you have a particular soft furnishings dilema.
Our People
Every successful business knows they are nothing without experienced and loyal staff. No Chintz prides itself on
having dedicated staff members who enjoy their work. Many hold tertiary degrees in either textiles or design, in
addition to their years in soft furnishings retail, and understand the importance of design and fabric advice appropriate
to the individual. We believe every job is as important as the last.
