Custom Dining Chairs

Dining chairs can carry fabric in a number of ways, and the right approach depends on the chair itself.

There's the fully upholstered chair, covered across the back, seat and even the arms. There's the partially upholstered chair, where the seat and arms are covered but the back stays timber. There's the dining chair with an upholstered "drop in" seat, and there's the tied on upholstered seat.

Almost any fabric will work on a dining chair, and the choice comes down to your personal style and the feel of the room.

Contemporary chairs suit a plainer fabric in a textured weave, coloured or neutral. A more traditional or eclectic room can carry something more colourful and directional, like an ikat.

A drop in seat looks best in smaller, more traditional patterns and colourways that relate to your rug, curtains or wallpaper, and a good quality fabric will last the distance.

For dining rooms getting heavy daily use, a high performance fabric is worth considering. Most spills and marks only need a spray and wipe.
