Tablescaping for the Holiday Season with Tina Gomes Brand

Date Posted:10 December 2023

No Chintz headed to their regular columnist Tina Brand’s place where she was planning her festive tablescapes and holiday entertaining.

Invited to decorate a festive table, I knew immediately what I wanted to try. Hosting a festive meal for dinner meant changing up the usual cheery and bright lunch time look. Browsing in the No Chintz stores, I came across a glamorous thick black and white Zebra Crossing Ikat stripe, and the Snow Leopard black and white ikat spot fabric

The No Chintz workroom made up a tablecloth and runner, and the fun began. With the family grown I decided to do away with the years of cute Santa imagery, crackers and baubles that pleased the children so much as they were growing. Now it was time to go for a sophisticated adult look.

Using highlights of gold and green, and picking up some lovely dark green napkins in plains and prints from the large variety at No Chintz, it came together without much trouble. Sprigs of rosemary, mini green pears and pretty candlesticks in black, white and gold from the No Chintz stores set the scene. Adding to this was a splurge on some beautiful gold ceramic plates, all available at your favourite interior decorating store.

I picked through our box of decorations and pulled out some favourites in gold. The hints of Christmas seemed more that enough to evoke the season, this time focusing on the glamour of the tablecloth and contrasting runner.
